Nicole Resendiz is an illustrator specializing in capturing couples’ impactful moments in oil paint, from weddings to births. This is done either on sight, wedding paintings, or through photoshoots transformed into something new, birth, couple, family, or pet portraits.
Nicole graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in August of 2025, earning her BFA in Illustration.
Taking inspiration from the genre paintings from 17th-century France, a category of paintings that depicted moments of daily life. Each painting is a snapshot in time, telling stories in the details that litter each painting. There is also a sense of joy for the world, their loved ones, and themselves. It is that sense of warmth that Nicole hopes to emulate throughout her work. To remind others of the beauty of community and the Earth.
Nicole had her wedding painting debut in October 2024. Her work has been shown in RMCAD’s graduation exhibit.
Currently, Nicole is working on expanding her knowledge of oil painting, and how different lighting effects environments and atmosphere.
