Back in middle school, Nicole Rain and her friends would write stories together. She started making character turnarounds to show off what she was imagining in her head. This is when she realized that she was in love with art and has been making it ever since. Nicole’s style and artistic concepts have changed drastically since those early days, but her passion has always stayed the same.
Nicole Rain has spent a lot of time trying to capture certain feelings within her pieces, to feel the childhood wonder of hanging out by a river or the love between two people on their wedding day. She works with oils to create whimsical worlds that bring characters and stories to life. She draws on her use of color theory and figure studies to fabricate illustrations full of familiarity and handmade authenticity. That same authenticity she uses to capture memories and emotions to help stop time for a moment.
